Impact of the “With” Guideline
Presenters at this session will tackle the various ways that the key word "with" can affect the diagnosis and procedure codes. Not only does this presentation include identifiable characteristics to look for, it provides examples and guidelines in the various medical condition areas such as Hypertension, Diabetes, Bleeding Issues, and their sub-diagnosis codes.
This presentation is a great learning tool for new HIM professionals and a great brush up for seasoned professionals. Subtopics include Heart Failure and Kidney Disease with Hypertension. Sub-topics of Diabetes include Osteomyelitis, Peripheral Angiopathy, Arteriosclerotic Peripheral Artery Disease, Arthropathy, Gas Gangrene, Non-Pressure (and pressure) Chronic Ulcers, Cellulitis, Cataracts, and Kidney Disease.
