Sarasota Memorial's Intergalactic Mission to CAC
Presented by: TruCode/Dolbey
This presentation will review our mission to simultaneously transform our coding, clinical documentation improvement, and encoder software. We will discuss the objectives, stages, and outcomes of the mission. We will discuss the human and technological challenges and benefits of fundamentally changing the way that jobs are performed for large user groups. We will examine the risks and rewards of moving from an encoder based environment to a natural language processor-based environment for coders, managers, clinical documentation improvement, and support users.
- Develop a clear understanding of the stages of a major project.
- Examine the best and not-so-best practices in implementing a CAC/CDI/Encoder change project.
- Describe the differences between an encoder-centric CAC/CDI software and an NLP-centric software.
