HIM Process Improvement

Presenters at this session will discuss the need for and development of process improvement in HIM. They’ll discuss why organizations pursue process improvement – reasons can include restructuring the HIM team, moving HIM under revenue cycle management, and operating as one entity.

This is a change from HIM teams that are hospital-based (though often operating independently at different hospitals) with no standard processes and different workflows. Presenters will discuss what’s involved in process improvement, including developing best practices; identifying waste; aligning organizational goals; focusing on metrics; regular meetings; and more.
